On 27th May, the Conservative Friends of Poland held a reception in honour of Barbara Czarniecka-Yerolemou to

mark 20 years of her contribution to the Conservative Party in local government, and following the end of her

Mayoral year.

In her opening address Teresa Potocka, CFoP Founding Chairman noted Barbara's role as the first

Polish speaking Councillor to hold regular surgeries in Ealing from 1994 until a year ago. Angie Bray MP,

and CFoP Hon. Vice President, elected as the Conservative MP in Ealing and Acton Central, spoke about her

work following our Victory in the general election, and her maiden speech earlier in the day. Angie mentioned

Teresa Potocka's contribution to the party and her timing in choosing to set up the Conservative Friends

of Poland. Rt Hon Mark Francois MP, CFoP Hon. Vice President, appointed Government Whip (Vice Chamberlain of

HM Household), touched on Rt Hon David Cameron's role as the new Prime Minister, British Polish relations, his

role in the Conservative Friends of Poland since its inception in February 2008, and thanked Barbara for her

contribution to the Conservative Party over the last 20 years and also Teresa Potocka for setting up the

Conservative Friends of Poland. Barbara Czarniecka-Yerolemou elaborated on her time in local government

and expressed her gratitude to her audience before Tomasz Kozłowski, Minister Counsellor, Deputy Head of

Mission from the Polish Embassy made the final speech about Barbara's contribution to the Polish community.
